Understanding the verdict
How to read the legal/illegal result and the slide-to-legal fix.
The verdict badge
At the top: LEGAL or NOT LEGAL, the jurisdiction (e.g. US-FED, CA-MOU), and the gross vehicle weight.
The axle bars
One bar per axle group — steer, drive tandem, trailer tandem (and gross). Each shows the group's weight against its limit. Green means within limit; red means over. A group can be over even when your gross weight is fine — that's exactly what the bridge formula catches.
The slide-to-legal fix
If the trailer tandem is over, LoadLegit computes the precise tandem slide — how many holes to move the slider, and which direction — to shift weight between the drive and trailer groups until both are legal. No guesswork at the scale.
Advisories (Canada)
Canadian province checks may add advisories — non-blocking notes like Quebec's spring-thaw restrictions or Ontario SPIF configurations. They never flip the verdict; they flag things to confirm locally. See State & Canada rules.
