The US works in pounds and feet; Canada's interprovincial limits are set in kilograms and metres. A rig that is legal at 80,000 lb gross in the US is 36,287 kg — under Canada's higher 39,500 kg Category 1 gross — but Canadian axle-group and spacing rules differ, so a straight conversion is never the whole answer.
